How Much to Cool a Home Office with Mini Splits.
Cooling a home office in Central Texas with a ductless mini split costs a flat $1,500 for one zone, $2,500 for two, or $3,500 for three. This price includes materials, labor, and a standard electrical hookup. No hidden fees or custom quotes.
Flat pricing, same everywhere we work
| System | Flat price, installed | Included |
|---|---|---|
| One split (single room) | $1,500 | Indoor head, outdoor condenser, line set, standard electrical, all labor |
| Two splits | $2,500 | Everything above, two zones |
| Three splits | $3,500 | Everything above, three zones |
Every install is wired to code by our TDLR-licensed contractor. Long line-set runs, panel upgrades or unusual mounting can add cost, and we tell you up front, before any work starts. For market context, see our Austin mini split cost guide: typical Central Texas quotes run $3,000 to $5,000 for a single zone.

Flat Pricing for a Home Office Mini Split Install.
A home office in a converted garage, spare bedroom, or addition often needs its own cooling zone. Instead of running new ductwork or oversized a central AC, a single ductless mini split provides dedicated cooling and heating. Our flat price of $1,500 for one zone covers the unit, line set, mounting bracket, wiring, and the crew's labor. That price holds for most standard installations in Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Leander, Pflugerville, and Hutto.
The flat rate avoids the industry norm of $2,000 to $5,000 per zone and eliminates the need for an in-home quote. If your home office has a wall that can take a standard line set run under 50 feet, the price stays $1,500. Two home offices can be cooled for $2,500, and three separate spaces for $3,500. All installations are done by TDLR-licensed contractors and typically finish in a single day with system testing before they leave.
What Drives Cost Up or Down for a Home Office.
The biggest cost driver is line set length. If your home office is on a second floor or far from the outdoor unit location, a very long line set (over 50 feet) may require an honest exception quoted before work starts. A panel upgrade that the house already needed is another exception, but it is not a service we perform. We only note it as something to know before installation. Unusually difficult mounting, such as brick or stone walls that require extra hardware, can also raise the cost.
Your home office likely needs no extra ductwork or demolition, which keeps the install simple. The mini split is a heat pump, so it cools through brutal Central Texas summers and heats through mild winters without a separate furnace. If you need touch-up paint after the wall hole is drilled, we run to Home Depot for paint matching at no extra charge. No other surprises appear on the final bill.
Questions
Can I cool just one room in my house with a mini split for my home office?
Yes. A single zone mini split is made for one room. Our flat rate of $1,500 covers the whole install for one home office. The unit mounts on the wall and connects to an outdoor compressor.
Do I need to be home for the installation of a mini split in my office?
Yes, you or someone else should be present to let the crew in and review the final placement. The install takes one day, and we test the system before leaving. You can work in the room that day if the office is not the install zone.
What if my home office is in a garage or a room with no existing electrical outlet?
Our standard electrical hookup covers running a dedicated circuit from your panel to the unit. If your panel needs an upgrade to handle the new load, that is an exception we discuss before work starts. It is not a service we perform, but we can advise you on what to know.
We install across Central Texas. See the Austin mini split cost guide, full Central Texas service area or Austin mini split installation.
