Mini Split for a Craft or Sewing Room in Central Texas.

Updated September 2026

Craft and sewing rooms hold materials that warp, fade, or curdle in fluctuating temperatures. Glue, fabric dye, paint, and vinyl all prefer a steady climate. A ductless mini split heat pump gives you independent control of that single room, separate from the rest of the house, without ductwork or a window unit.

Flat pricing, same everywhere we work

SystemFlat price, installedIncluded
One split (single room)$1,500Indoor head, outdoor condenser, line set, standard electrical, all labor
Two splits$2,500Everything above, two zones
Three splits$3,500Everything above, three zones

Every install is wired to code by our TDLR-licensed contractor. Long line-set runs, panel upgrades or unusual mounting can add cost, and we tell you up front, before any work starts. For market context, see our Austin mini split cost guide: typical Central Texas quotes run $3,000 to $5,000 for a single zone.

Why a Dedicated Mini Split for a Craft Room

Hot glue, fabric stiffeners, resin, and even thread tension can react badly to humidity swings. A mini split acts as a heat pump, providing both air conditioning through Central Texas summers and gentle heat during mild winters. You set the temperature exactly where your materials need it, not where the rest of the family wants the thermostat.

Our flat price for one split is $1,500 including materials, labor, and standard electrical hookup. We handle the full install in a single day for most one to three zone setups. This is a new install price, not a repair or service call, and we test the system before the crew leaves. No custom quotes or in home visits needed for pricing.

Installation Details for a Craft Room Setup

We mount the indoor head unit high on a wall to keep it out of your way and to push conditioned air across the room without blowing directly onto your work surface. The outdoor condenser is placed on a pad or brackets at ground level or on an exterior wall. Line sets run through a small hole drilled through the wall, sealed afterward.

Our crew are TDLR licensed contractors. We include a run to Home Depot for touch up paint if the wall needs it. Honest exceptions, like a very long line set or unusually difficult mounting, are stated before work starts, never after. The system is a heat pump so you get both cooling and heating without a separate furnace.

Questions

Will the mini split protect heat sensitive craft supplies like glue or paint?

Yes. A mini split provides steady temperature and lower humidity, which helps prevent glue from separating, paint from drying unevenly, and fabric dye from curing incorrectly. You can set the room to a consistent 68 to 72 degrees year round.

Can the indoor unit be placed to avoid blowing air directly onto my sewing table?

Yes. We mount the head unit high on a wall and angle the louvers away from your work area. The airflow circulates the room without creating a direct draft on your materials or your machine.

Does the $1,500 price include the electrical work for a new 240 volt outlet?

It includes standard electrical hookup, meaning connecting the outdoor unit to an existing nearby breaker panel position. If your panel needs an upgrade that was already due, we state that before work starts.

We install across Central Texas. See the Austin mini split cost guide, full Central Texas service area or Austin mini split installation.
