The price you see is the price you pay.
Also included are the wall penetration for the line set and drain, mounting hardware for both units, startup and testing of the system in both heating and cooling modes, and a walkthrough of the basic remote control functions. We do not hide charges for common items like disconnect switches, surge protection or line set covers. Those are part of the job.
What is not included is anything outside the scope of the system itself. We do not patch drywall that was opened for unrelated work. We do not upgrade your main electrical panel if it lacks capacity, though we tell you if that is needed before we begin. We do not insulate the room or replace windows. The system cools the room as it is, not as it might be after a remodel. Weekday installations typically cost less than weekend or after hours work, and we are clear about that when you reach out.

Yes, and it is one of the most common requests we handle. Metal buildings and pole barn structures present specific challenges with mounting and insulation, but a mini split is well suited for them. The indoor head can mount on a finished interior wall or on structural framing with proper backing. The line set and drain run through the exterior wall and down to the condenser. We check the wall construction during the site visit to confirm the mounting method and materials. The system cools the occupied zone effectively even when the ceiling cavity is warm, because the conditioned air stays low where people are.
How loud is the outdoor unit, and where can it be placed?
Modern ductless outdoor condensers are remarkably quiet. Most run at a sound level similar to a refrigerator hum and are not noticeable at a short distance. Placement matters for both performance and guest experience. We look for a spot away from ceremony seating areas and reception tables, with good airflow clearance on all sides. Common locations include the back side of a barn, behind a hedge row, alongside a utility wall or tucked near an existing mechanical pad. The condenser can sit on a ground level concrete pad or mount on an exterior wall bracket. We discuss placement during the site visit to balance acoustics, aesthetics and service access.
We already have central air in the main hall. Can a mini split work with it?
A ductless mini split operates completely independently from your existing central system. It does not connect to the ductwork, does not share a thermostat and does not require the central unit to run. This independence is the point. A groom's suite or detached prep room that was never connected to the main system gets its own dedicated cooling without modifying the existing equipment. You can run the mini split in the groom's room while the central system cools the reception hall, and neither affects the other. Each space stays comfortable on its own terms, and you avoid the expense of extending ductwork through finished spaces.
What do you need from us before a site visit?
We need the approximate dimensions of the room or rooms you want cooled, a general description of the building type and construction, and an idea of how the space gets used on a wedding day. Knowing the typical number of people in the room, whether doors stay closed or get propped open, and what time of day the room is occupied helps us prepare for the walkthrough. Photos are welcome but not required. We schedule the visit during a time that works for your venue operations, including weekdays when events are not underway. After we see the space, we provide a written flat rate quote that covers the full scope.
Can you add more indoor heads later if we start with one?
It depends on the outdoor condenser we install. If you think you might want to cool a bridal suite, catering room or coordinator's office in the future, we can size the outdoor unit to accept additional zones from the start. The initial job includes the condenser, one indoor head and the supporting electrical work. Adding a second or third head later means running a new line set and drain from the new room to the existing condenser, plus mounting the indoor head. Planning for that possibility upfront costs less than replacing an undersized condenser down the road. We discuss multi zone options during the site visit so you can make an informed choice.
