What we tell homeowners is simple. The pre-charged quick connect design removes one barrier to installation, but it does not remove the parts that actually decide whether a system lasts: correct line set routing and support, a properly sealed and sloped condensate drain, adequate outdoor unit clearance from a hot south-facing wall, and electrical work that meets code with the right disconnect and breaker sizing. Those are the failure points we get called about, and they exist no matter whose badge is on the cover.
How ATX Mini Split King Handles Equipment and Pricing
We are an installation company, not a brand showroom. We select quality equipment matched to the room, the load, the electrical service, and the mounting situation, then install it professionally with a proper vacuum and charge where the system calls for it, correct line set work, and code-compliant electrical. If you already own an MRCOOL unit or have a specific brand in mind, talk to us about it before you buy so we can tell you honestly whether it fits the job.
Our pricing is flat and published: $1,500 for one split, $2,500 for two, $3,500 for three, materials and labor included, installed by a TDLR-licensed contractor. A single-zone garage install is $1,500 flat and includes a Home Depot run for touch up paint if needed. Most one-to-three-zone installs finish in a single day and are tested before the crew leaves. The only exceptions are a very long line set, a panel upgrade the house already needed, or unusually difficult mounting, and we state those before work starts, never after. Elsewhere, ductless installs commonly run $2,000 to $5,000 per zone on a custom quote, and most local HVAC contractors and national chains require an in-home sales visit just to get a number.

If MRCOOL is designed for DIY, why hire an installer at all?
The pre-charged line set removes the need for refrigerant tools, but it does not handle line set routing and support, condensate drainage, outdoor unit placement and clearance, wall penetration sealing, or code-compliant electrical with the correct breaker and disconnect. Those are the items that cause leaks, short cycling, and premature compressor failure years later. Professional installation matters more for long-term reliability than the brand badge alone.
Does your flat pricing cover repairs on an existing MRCOOL system?
