Running new metal or flex duct through finished walls and ceilings usually requires cutting drywall, patching, and repainting several rooms. How a Mini Split Works Without Ducts.

A ductless mini split is a heat pump. It cools through brutal Central Texas summers and heats through mild winters without a separate furnace. The system has an outdoor condenser and one or more indoor air handlers mounted on a wall or ceiling. A small conduit carries refrigerant and power between them. Because there are no ducts, there is no energy loss from leaky ductwork, and each room can be set to a different temperature. Most one to three zone installations finish in a single day.

Will you need to cut into my walls or ceiling to install a mini split in a room with no ducts?

No. A ductless mini split requires only a small hole, about three inches wide, for the line set and wiring. We patch the hole around the conduit and touch up paint. No wall demolition or new duct chases are needed.

Can you install a mini split in an older home with no existing ductwork and no central air?

Yes. Older homes without ductwork are a perfect fit for ductless mini splits. Our flat rate covers the entire install, including the standard electrical hookup. We just need to confirm your electrical panel can handle the load before we start.

Do I need to be home for the full installation day?

You do not need to be home the entire time, but someone should be available to let the crew in and confirm the placement of the indoor units. Most one to three zone installs finish in a single day and are tested before the crew leaves.
